Stonehaven has a long history of golf with the original club being formed in 1888. We may not be the longest course in the area but in terms of a course with stunning views, some challenging holes and being fun to play, there are few courses that can match us in this area.
We were delighted to be recently ranked at number 90 in Golf World’s Top Scottish Courses, offering what the rating panel described as “brilliant fun” to play. The course sets a stiff challenge for all standards of golfer and can be a test of your short game, featuring a number of dramatic short holes played over deep gullies and along the top of steep cliffs. The course also provides stunning views of the North Sea, of Stonehaven Bay and, to the south, the ancient and world famous fortress of Dunnottar Castle.
New members and visitors are always welcome at our friendly club to enjoy a game of golf – or more in our historic clubhouse and restaurant with some of the best views in town. Our View Restaurant within the clubhouse is open to members and both playing and non-playing visitors alike for a delicious bite to eat or simply to have a coffee.
Members can enjoy an active competition schedule throughout the year, including a winter league. We have players at all levels of golf and new members will find both a warm welcome at the club and encouragement to play with existing members in competitions, even if they don’t have a regular companion to play golf with when they join.
We look forward to welcoming you at Stonehaven Golf Club and for you to enjoy the experience, whether you are looking to be a new member or are just a passing visitor.
