The competitions will be set up on Club V1 and players should sign in and enter their own scores using HowDidiDo, if possible. If anyone is unable to use HowDidiDo then scores should be sent to

The League winners will be the players with the most points from their 8 best League rounds. The Eclectic winners will be the players with the lowest aggregate score over all rounds played. After each round, the score at a hole where a lower gross score is achieved will be updated. You can keep a record of your own progress or you can let the computer do the calculations at the end of September.

Ladies Section

The Ladies Section at Stonehaven Golf Club has 58 playing members at present, with many more social members.

The Ladies at the club are very welcoming and enjoy an active competition schedule in addition to a vibrant social calendar.

The summer events range from counting competitions for trophies to social and team competitions. Competition days are Tuesdays & Thursdays. Tuesdays tend to include more fun and team events which are very popular. Thursdays are usually medal competitions (strokeplay/counting for handicap.) There are 2 playing categories, silver and bronze. Silver is handicap 1 – 20, bronze is handicap 21 – 36

Competitions continue throughout the winter with the most popular being the 12 hole Winter League stableford on Thursdays.

A few competitions played for during the summer season are –

Ladies Championship: strokeplay competition played over 3 rounds. Open to all players with various trophies on offer. Winners are the Champion, Runner up, Bronze Winner and Handicap Winner.

Innes Majority Trophy: this is a beautiful silver tea caddy which is the oldest trophy in the Ladies Section, in memory of Captain W D Innes of Cowie, the first Captain of the Club (formed 1888). The 8 players with the best net score in a summer medal qualify for the final. It is the only competition throughout the year that uses over or under par as the method of scoring.

The Putter’s Quaich: this is a recent trophy that was kindly donated by the widowers of two extremely popular ladies who passed away around the same time (both great putters). It is played during a medal and each player must count their putts, with putts counting if the ball is on the putting surface. The winner has the lowest number of putts for the round.

There are 2 knockout competitions. The Spring Tournament is a singles handicap competition and the team event is a Four Ball Better Ball.

The Lady Captain’s Prize is very popular. It is usually a 9 hole stableford followed by a meal in the clubhouse.

The Spring Lunch, Christmas Lunch and Dinner & Prizegiving are great social occasions. In addition, members can enjoy quiz nights, bingo nights and other social events organised by the Ladies Committee.

This is just a flavour of the Ladies Section at Stonehaven Golf Club. Come and join the fun!
